VELUX™ GPU roof windows are designed for in-reach applications that require code approved egress emergency escape capabilities. We use these on our domes for all upper floor bedrooms. Every bedroom requires an approved egress window.
These units must meet the minimum width, height, square feet, and opening hardware. GPU Roof windows also feature a ventilation flap that allows air circulation when the window is closed.
Designed to be installed within reach, the GPU roof window opens to provide maximum ventilation. (Sill should be 44″ or less above floor).
• Opens to a 45° angle to satisfy egress requirements for emergency escape.
• Sash rotates inward for easy glass cleaning from inside.

Natural ventilation with a closed window
Let fresh air into your home without having to worry about security or bad weather, even when you are away or sleeping.
Pull the unique top control bar once and you will allow fresh, filtered air to enter through the ventilation flap.
White polyurethane interior frame
Perfect for contemporary interiors and white ceilings. The polyurethane molding has no visible joints and therefore ensures a moisture resistant finish that requires less maintenance than lacquered natural pine.

Egress window custom framing package:
Natural Spaces Domes utilizes the VELUX™ GPL#M08 as an egress skylight on 2nd-floor bedrooms. This is much cheaper than building a custom dormer that utilizes a conventional vertical egress window. In the 30’, 33’ and 36’ diameter domes (along with the 45’-51’ diameters), this large skylight is installed into two triangle panels, one on top of the other. Our special framing/flashing package makes this easy. We provide a plywood built-up “box” for mounting the top half of the GPL#M08. 2 custom cut 2×10 side framing braces and 10 metal framing clips. 8 custom flashing extensions along with 12 – 14 step flashing pieces are also included. This kit includes 50 sq. ft. of Grace Ice & Watershield High-Temperature waterproofing membrane.
