Cedar shingles & cedar shakes have been used on many of our domes. They are applied over an underlayment with an 18″ wide underlayment between each layer using either 30# roofing felt or synthetic underlayments. Some cedar roofing can be fire-treated. There are several grades & thickness. We strongly suggest that these be applied by a professional experienced in applying cedar shakes.
