The base vent drip edge provides intake ventilation at the base of the wall and roof cavity, preventing condensation moisture in the wall. By removing the potential for condensation moisture, it virtually eliminates the possibility of mold. Also this metal piece is a drip edge preventing rain from running down the face of the riser wall. By reducing the water intrusion, mold is not likely to grow.
